Hennessey Turns Turbocharged Ferrari 458 Italia Into 738 HP Beast
Hennessey, the Texas, USA based car tuner is best known for turning regular supercars into absolute beasts. The best example would be the Lotus that was mutated into the Venom GT, capable of challenging even a Bugatti Veyron SS.
The tuning house has this time come out with a tuning package for the Ferrari 458 Italia. The 458, a mid range sports car, is obviously fast, but it is most loved for the way it drives and how beautiful it looks. True Ferrari enthusiasts in particular, are never happy when a Ferrari is tuned. They like it how it comes of Maranello, with no tinkering whatsoever. But Americans like their cars tuned, no matter how powerful it already is. Hennessey's Ferrari 458 Italia package will cater to these customers.
The package is named "HPE700 Twin Turbo" and it brings out 738 HP and 532 lb-ft of torque from the 458 Italia's 4.5 liter V8 engine. 0-100 km/h time post upgrade will decrease to just 2.8 seconds and 400 meters takes just 10.2 seconds to reach, at 220 km/h.
The package adds custom twin turbochargers, remaps the ECU, adds new cooling systems, increases air and fuel intake with new systems and fits a new high-performance exhaust system. A new transmission line will also be provided to handle the extra power.
The package is not limited to the engine either. If asked for Hennessey will also add carbon fiber body parts such as the front air splitter and rear spoiler. 20 inch alloys, KW suspension and adjustable shocks are meanwhile standard.
Changes to the interior consists of leather and Alcantara upholstery, a dash covered in carbon and aluminium. What's more Hennessey covers the tuning package with a one year/12,000 mile limited warranty.
Price for the "HPE700 Twin Turbo" starts at $59,995. Hennessey will keep on display a tuned Ferrari 458 Italia at the Concorso Italiano event at the ongoing Monterey Motorweek.
