New Chevrolet Sail U-VA Base Diesel Variant Added

Chevrolet has added a new base variant to its Sail U-VA diesel lineup. This means the Sail U-VA is available in 8 variants - four petrol trims and now, four diesel trims from the previous three. The different trims offered by Chevrolet are PS, LS, LS ABS and LT ABS, each of the four being offered in both petrol and diesel versions.

GM India has already updated its website with information about the new variant and it looks like the base diesel version is the same as the base petrol in terms of features, with the only difference being the engine.

The new diesel Sail U-VA is powered by a 1.2 liter engine, which delivers 78 PS at 4000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm. The ARAI certified average fuel efficiency of the diesel unit is 22.1 kmpl. Transmission is a 5 speed manual unit.

Standard interior features, like the base petrol variant, will include fabric seat covers, front power windows, electronically adjusted OVRM, adjustable steering wheels and air conditioning. On the exterior, the base diesel hatchback will get body coloured bumpers, but in place of alloy wheels will be steel ones.

The ex-showroom New Delhi price for the Chevrolet U-VA diesel PS trim is INR 5.29 lakhs. General Motors India looks to give the U-VA sales a boost, which has lately been dull, and it does look like the automaker has taken the right step here.
