General Motors India Price Hike From January 2014 Announced
General Motors India is among the last automakers to announce hike in prices of its cars in the past few weeks. The latest streak of price hikes are being implemented in India in order to offset the negative effect of increased production costs.

According to a statement released by GM India, prices of its model will go up as much as Rs 10,000 depending on the model. As is the case with other automakers, GM India will implement the new prices starting from January 2014.

"We plan to hike prices across our entire product portfolio by up to Rs 10,000 from January. This is due to cost pressure," General Motors India Vice President P Balendran said.
General Motors India sells a variety of cars in India which range from the INR 3.33 lakhs Spark city hatchback to the full size sports utility vehicle Captiva, which comes for about INR 25.71 lakhs.
Hyundai was the previous Indian automaker to announce price hike, which preceded Volkswagen's announcement.
