Ford Figo Sexist Print Ads Draw Flak

Ford India has landed itself in an unnecessary controversy, which could have been easily avoided had it been a little more sensible. Ford India's advertising and marketing partner JWT India, the Indian arm of the New York based JWT marketing and communications firm, recently created a series of print ads that for obvious reasons, has not gone down well with anyone.

The print ads, which have since been withdrawn, features curvasious women gagged, bonded and dumped in the Ford Figo's boot. The ads titled "leave your worries behind" were meant to highlight the Figo's spacious cargo area. Ford India and JWT have since issued statements showing their regret over the incident.

This ad, which is also the most disturbing of the three, features former Italian prime minister Mr Silvio Berlusconi signaling the peace sign and three bonded and gaged women in the boot.

The last one, not exactly sexist, shows Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher in the front and other drivers, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton in the boot.
