Ford EcoSport Launch Expected On June 11
A report posted by Autojunction.in claims Ford will at long last launch the EcoSport on June 11. This fits in well since Ford has announced via its Facebook page that pre-orders will start from June.
Ford EcoSport is arguably the most anticipated SUV launch in the country in recent time. The reason for this are the new features that Ford will introduced for the first time in India. This includes the celebrated EcoBoost engine and the Emergency Assist feature.
The 1.0 liter Ford EcoBoost engine is known to be highly efficient without compromising on performance. The EcoBoost engine achieves this by employing direct fuel injection and a turbocharger, not to mention, some clever engineering by Ford.
The 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine, which is the only one that will be available in India, promises to deliver a mileage in the region of 18 kmpl. Power deliver will be 122 HP at 6,000 rpm and 170 Nm between 1,400 rpm and 4,500 rpm.
The other highlight, Ford's Emergency Assist, is one of a kind in the country. The safety feature, which has already proven its worth, makes a call to the local ambulance service soon after a major accident.
For EcoSport will be available in Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional trims, with the 1.0 liter EcoBoost coming only in the Titanium variant. A 1.5 liter petrol and a diesel engine will also be available. Besides the 5 speed manual a 6 speed automatic will be on offer, but this will not be mated to the EcoBoost engine.
Expect the Ford EcoBoost to launch with a starting price of INR 5 lakhs plus.
