Fiat Punto Abarth Evo EsseEsse Spotted In India
A Fiat Punto Abarth hot hatch was spotted driving through the roads of Coimbatore by a TeamBHP member recently. The said car was spotted driving through sporting Evo and EsseEsse badges, meaning the car was the two door, high performance version of the Punto Abarth.
The spotting of the new car is of significance because Fiat has already confirmed its plans to launch the Punto Abarth in India this year. However, it is not clear which variants of the Punto Abarth will be available in the country.
The Punto Abarth Evo EsseEsse two door hot hatch is a tuned up version of the regular Abarth, producing 180 HP at 5,600 rpm and 270 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm from its 1.3 liter petrol engine.
The Evo EsseEsse variant has a top speed of 216 km/h and can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 7.6 seconds. It also sports high performance Abarth Springs, Koni dampers and Brembo discs.
If and when the high performance Evo EsseEsse becomes available in India, it is more likely to be offered as a CBU or imported model.
The Indian specification standard Fiat Punto Abarth on the other hand, is expected to arrive with the 1.4 liter T-Jet engine, found in the Linea, and suspensions to better suit Indian roads.
