Ferrari Patent Sketches Reveals Plans For New Coupe
Several sketches of an all new Ferrari have appeared on the internet. As you might recognise, these sketches are patent drawings and have been filed by Ferrari with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), which is the trademark and design registry for the European union.
The new Ferrari coupe revealed in the sketches has the design characteristics of several existing cars, including the 458 Italia, Ferrari FF grand tourer and F12berlinetta. Besides the image no information regarding the car in the sketches has surfaced. Here are a few theories.

Next gen Ferrari California
The existing Ferrari California is the oldest model in the Ferrari lineup and is due for a change sometime in the near future. The car in the sketches perfectly fits the bill of California replacement in terms of the vehicle's design.

Like the California, the new car is a front engined car. The next gen California or its replacement is expected to sport a turbocharged engine, either a V8 or even a V6. If this is indeed the current-gen California replacement we could see it make an appearance at the 2014 Paris Auto Show.

A one-off customer commissioned car
Musician Eric Clapton's Ferrari SP12 EC is a one-off, that was specially commissioned by him. The car is based on the Ferrari 458 Italia coupe and patent sketches of that filled with (OHIM) had also surfaced before its launched.

It is possible that this new car is one such special car, commissioned by a wealthy customer. It wouldn't be surprising to learn that this one is a coupe version of the all-wheel drive Ferrari FF grand tourer.
