What Happens When You Crash A Ferrari At 300 km/h
We are not talking about a crash test here, but about a Ferrari involved in an actual accident when travelling at 300 km/h. The answer is, it gets wrecked. Totally destroyed. This incident occurred on May 1st on a German highway.
41 year-old Markus R and his 39 year old wife Angela were cruising in their Ferrari F430 supercar on Germany's A7 autobahn at 300 km/h or 186 mph, when suddenly the right rear tyre burst. The Ferrari immediately spun out of control and smashed into the guardrails before coming to a stop.
As you'll see in the image gallery below, the car is totally gutted, with zero chance of getting it repaired. Miraculously, both Markus and his wife survived the accident relatively unscathed. Turns out Markus was once before involved in an accident, also involving a Ferrari, during which the car had caught fire due to a lit cigarette butt.
The incident proves no matter how well designed the car and meant for high speed driving, travelling at such speeds is always dangerous. Tyre bursts are in fact a common problem faced when driving at extreme speeds. Something which cannot be avoided even if the tyres are the best money can afford.
