Daniel Ricciardo Confirmed As Webber’s Replacement In Red Bull F1 Team
What was virtually a known fact has been confirmed. Daniel Ricciardo will take the empty seat at Red Bull Racing F1 team left by Mark Webber from 2014 season onwards.
The hunt for a replacement driver for Red Bull began in June when Mark Webber announced 2013 was going to be his last season in Formula 1 and revealed his plans to move to Porsche LMP1 team to compete in the 2014 World Endurance Championship at Le Mans.

The names that came up as the potential 2nd driver for Red Bull included Toro Rosso driver Jean-Eric Vergne and Lotus' Kimi Räikkönen, along with Australian Daniel Ricciardo, also from Toro Rosso. However, Ricciardo's name was virtually confirmed by Webber before the official announcement.
While speaking to an Australian TV channel a few days back Webber spilled the beans by saying "The decision's made. We all know who it is. I'm happy with that decision." and "It's good for him and good for Australia." This was not the first time Webber had taken the fellow Australian's name as his replacement.
Daniel Ricciardo has two and half seasons of Formula 1 experience. The 24 year old driver from Perth started his F1 career in 2011 with Hispania Racing (Narain Karthikeyan's former team), but the following year moved over to Scuderia Toro Rosso. A team that's also owned by Red Bull, but uses a Ferrari engine.
Ricciardo has not won any races till now and neither has he secured any pole position. But after moving to top team like Red Bull next year he'll have a real chance for the first time to make it happen.
"I feel very, very good at the moment, and obviously there's a lot of excitement running through me," Ricciardo said. "Next year I'll be with a Championship-winning team, arguably the best team, and will be expected to deliver."
