Corvette AeroWagon Confirmed By Callaway For 2014

By Ganesh

The prospect of turning a sports car into a bulky estate vehicle will not appeal to everyone. But there is something different about a station wagon version of the Corvette C7, digital renderings of which have been seen all over the internet.

As you can see in the image right below the wagon version of the Stingray looks just as edgy as the sports car and still retains its sharp and fast look. The great news now coming is that the wagon version of the Stingray, called Corvette AeroWagon will be a reality. It will not be a stock car from Chevrolet, but a modification by Corvette tuning specialists Callaway cars.

Callaway has confirmed that a prototype AeroWagon will be seen by mid-November and a production upgrade package will be available from 2014 for a price of $15,000. The package will be made from natural carbon finer and an additional $1,500 will be charged for body colour panels.

That's right. It will not be a whole new car, but an upgrade package, which means it will not even be permanent. The exact mechanism has not been worked out yet. Car owners will be able to detach the wagon half from the hatch using some kind of latch mechanism, which will turn the car back into a sports car.

The AeroWagon package adds extra luggage space at the rear, but not extra seats. The AeroWagon will also be available with Callaway performance package for the C7, which will also come out next year.
