Carzonrent Mahindra e2o Self Drive Rental Cars For Rs 800/Day
Carzonrent and Mahindra Reva have come together to offer a very appealing car renting service. Under this plan a person can rent a Mahindra e2o electric car for a day from Carzonrent for a very reasonable Rs 800.
Other car rental services also offer vehicles around the same price point. But the rentee still has to fill fuel, which increases the overall cost of renting a car significantly. The e2o, being an electric car comes without that extra cost, increasing its appeal.
The e2o electric car provides a claimed range of 100 km on a full charge. For most people driving inside a city that's more than enough juice for a single day. This exact fact that makes this deal a sweet one.
"At one third the cost compared to other self-drive cars, the e2o will be a game changer in the self-drive business model and will provide a complete new experience to the city commuters," Carzonrent (I) Ltd Managing Director & CEO Rajiv Kr Vij said.
Initially, Carzonrent will offer e2o electric cars for rent only in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, with just five cars per city. Depending on the success of the initiative the number of cars will be increased and the service will be expanded other metropolitan cities.
"Our association with Carzonrent will bring Mahindra e2o and the concept of 'Mobility as a service' together, giving customers an opportunity to realise the endless benefits associated with this innovative solution," Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd CEO Chetan Maini said.
Despite being a solidly built, reliable and technologically advanced electric car, e2o as not performed well enough in the market as Mahindra expected it to. Offering the car as a rental car in cities seems to be the automaker's Plan B to accelerate sales.
