BMW Mini Comes To Bangalore; Production In Chennai
Just a year after introducing the Mini brand in India BMW has announced the start of local production in its Chennai plant. The Mini Countryman will be produced locally, which till now has never been produced outside of Europe.
In other Mini news, the brand now has its presence in Bangalore. The Mini exclusive dealership in the city, Navnit Motors, was opened on April 17th, 2013. Other Mini outlets in India are present in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
The exclusive Mini dealership in Bangalore, Navnit Motors, is located at Millers Road.
The dealership will be headed by Mr. Navnit Kachalia, Chairman and Managing Director, Navnit Group. Seen here withBMW Group India Head, Philipp Von Sahr.
The locally produced Mini Countryman will be available in two diesel variants and one petrol variant.
Diesel - Mini Cooper D Countryman and Mini Cooper D Countryman High. Petrol - Mini One Countryman.
Other petrol Countryman variants, which are imported as Completely Built up Units(CBU), available in the country are Mini Cooper S Countryman and Mini Cooper S Countryman High.
Other models available in India, also as CBUs, include the Mini Cooper and Cooper S and Mini Cooper Convertible.
