Audi S6 Sedan India Launch At BIC; Price Rs 85.99L
Seems like the European car giants are on an adrenaline rush as they race against each other to launch high end luxury and sports cars back to back in India. The latest one to arrive in India is the Audi S6, the performance version of the Audi A6 saloon.
For the S6 launch Audi choose Buddh International Circuit as the venue. The high performance sedan has been attached with a starting price of INR 85.99 lakhs, which is about 10 lakhs lower than the more potent RS5 that was launched earlier this month.
Audi S6 gets its punch from a 4.0 liter V8 TFSI (Turbo Fuel Stratified Injection) unit, unlike the A6, the most powerful of which runs on a 3.0 TFSI unit.
The 4.0 V8 generates 420 HP and 550 Nm of torque that is produced between 1,400 rpm - 5,300 rpm.
Audi's Quattro all wheel drive is at work here of course, in conjunction with the 7 speed S-tronic DSG transmission.
Audi S6 comes in at a mere 1,895 kg, which might sound like a lot, but is an impressive number for a performance luxury executive saloon.
The S6's engine can lug the nearly 2 ton car from a standstill to 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds and can continue on to reach its electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
Audi introduces Cylinder on Demand technology with the S6. This tech allows 4 out of the 8 engine cylinders to be temporarily shut off during low load conditions.
This fuel saving technique enables the S6 to achieve a mileage of 10.3km/l
In terms of looks the S6 is almost the same as its regular counterpart. The S6 is 16mm longer and also sports larger wheels than the A6. If your friends do not believe you you'll just have to show them the ‘S' badge that the S6 wears.
