Audi Quattro Sport e-tron Concept Teased Ahead Of Frankfurt Unveiling
Audi's stand at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show will be home to something major. That something is the Quattro Sport e-tron concept. The German carmaker has revealed what's in store with a few sketches, which do their job well by inciting excitement.
From the look of it the concept clearly seems to be the quattro concept that came out in 2010 in Paris. But it has developed several folds in the last three years. Though Audi has not made details public, a few pieces of info have been floating around in the internet.

You might have already guessed from the ‘e-tron' name that the concept is going to be a hybrid. Not surprising considering almost every major manufacturer is starting to tread the greener path.

The concept is said to be a 700HP machine, a major part of which is rumored to come from the same twin turbocharged 4.0 liter TFSI V8 engine which does duty in the RS6 and RS7 sports cars.

Furthermore, the concept is said to be capable of running purely in electric mode, with a range of 35 km.

Top speed will be in the range of 330 km/h and 0-100 km/h time will be lower than 3 seconds.

A few other details which reports suggest are these. The concept makes use of the MLB-evo chassis, weighs 1700 kg and has a low profile, akin to a supercar.

Looking at the images it is clear the front engined Audi Quattro Sport e-tron concept is more likely to be a BMW i8 competitor, though the latter has already reached production stage. We'll keep you updated about the Audi concept as and when more details arrive.
