Aston Martin Zagato Centenary Special Edition
Zagato, the Italian coachbuilders, auto design house and long time Aston Martin partner has announced couple of special one off builds as part of the British brands centenary celebrations. These two one-off centenary edition models have been commissioned by two wealthy private collectors and Aston enthusiasts.
Zagato has released a few renderings based on their designs. The one-off models show off the classic Aston and Zagato signature designs such as the fastback body style, the air vents on the hood and not to mention the Aston grille. From Zagato comes the double bubble roof design.
Based on
One of the special centenary edition Aston has been based on the 2013 DB9 Volante, while the other is originally a 2013 DBS Coupe.
DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial
The DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial is being built for Peter Read, a U.S based Aston Martin collector and enthusiast. Read also gave his inputs in the development of his car.
DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial
The DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial on the other hand will go to a young enthusiast from Japan.
Classic design
It is easy to see the classic car inspired design from the 70s and 80s in both cars.
Team
The team working on the centenary special is headed by Andrea and Marella Zagato, who also were the people behind the highly acclaimed 2002 DB7 Zagato limited production model.

Engine
Both cars still retain their mechanical workings including the 510 HP, 6.0 liter V12 engines.
Zagato & Aston
Zagato, which has been associated with several automakers starting from the early 1920s built its first Aston Martin vehicle, the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato in 1960.
