Renault Scala Scheduled For September Launch

Renault Scala
Renault Scala has being doing its fair share of testing in India. Drivespark is keeping a close tab on Renault's developments in India. The French auto-maker would be rolling out their Scala sedan for India in September, 2012.

A quick diagnosis of the Scala and one realizes that it is very similar to the Nissan sunny. For a fact, the Scala is Renault's version of the Nissan Sunny. Renault is hoping to capture a share of the mid-size sedan category in India via the Scala.

If you are wondering what are the major changes? To be honest, there aren't many major differences. Mechanically, the Scala would have the same engine as the Nissan Sunny. However, we expect minor cosmetic changes to come in the form plastic components.

It looks like the scala will follow the path of the Renault Pulse. Initially Nissan had launched the Micra and later Renault rolled out the pulse which was very similar to the Micra.

With regards to the Renault Pulse, the company opted to roll-out a diesel variant before it launched the petrol variant. We believe, the scala is leaning towards a similar strategy. Stay tuned!
