Renault Launches Petrol Pulse At Rs 4.25L

The new Renault Pulse's petrol variant has a starting price of Rs 4.25 lakhs which is close to the price of its Nissan clone Micra. Renault had launched the Pulse in India with only a diesel engine at the Delhi Auto Expo in January. The carmaker had stated that it launched the diesel Pulse considering the huge demand for diesel cars in India and had added that it would launch a petrol variant soon.
The Petrol Pulse is powered by a 1.2-litre three cylinder engine capable of producing 75bhp. It is paired with a five speed manual gearbox. The engine is the same one powering the Nissan Micra. Renault is also said to be planning to launch the petrol Pulse with an automatic gearbox too.
Renault has stated that the new petrol Pulse will be available in three variants and here are the ex-showroom Delhi prices.
RXE petrol: Rs. 4,25,000 (Driver airbag)
RXL petrol: Rs. 4,99,000 (Driver airbag)
RXZ petrol: Rs. 5,55,000 (ABS plus dual airbags)
The new Renault Pulse is evidently a redesigned version of the Nissan Micra. Renault's design studio in Mumbai did manage to make some cosmetic changes in the exterior design but nobody can say the pulse is in anyway different from the Micra. The arrival of the petrol variant of the Pulse will help some people who wanted to buy the Pulse but not the slightly more expensive diesel variant.
