Renault Duster
Renault has increased the price of the Duster within a month of its launch in India. The Duster's petrol variant is now costlier by Rs.30,000 and the diesel variant is now more expensive by Rs.40,000.

The Renault's Duster's price hike will be effective from 1st October. Renault has attributed this increased prices due to increasing input costs, heightened freight charges resulting from the recent increase in diesel prices.

So it is not only regular commodities whose prices have increased due to the diesel price hike but also car prices too. The Renault Duster's current price (ex-showroom De3lhi) is Rs.7.2 lakhs to Rs.11.3 lakhs. The Duster is available in eight variants out of which six are diesel variants. Renault has launched more diesel variants of the Duster considering the high demand for diesel cars in India.

We can also say the Renault Duster price hike was expected. We can consider the Duster's petrol variant's price of Rs.7.19 lakhs for the petrol variant and Rs.7.99 lakhs for the diesel variant to be just an introductory price. The Renault duster's new price will be Rs.7.49 lakhs for the entry level petrol variant and the diesel variant will cost Rs.8.39 lakhs.

Renault is not the first carmaker to have increased car prices in recent days. Maruti Suzuki, Honda, General Motors and most recently Audi have announced price hikes of their cars ranging from 1% to 2% affective from 1st October.
