Porsche Launches New 911 Carrera And Boxter
Porsche, the venerable German sports car brand has launched the new seventh generation 911 Carrera sports car and Boxter S in India. The 911 Carrera coupe is priced at Rs.1.14 crores. The sportier and ore powerful 911 Carrera S coupe is priced at Rs.1.33 crores. The Boxter S is available in new Delhi showrooms with a price tag of Rs.81.72 lakhs.
The new 911 Carrera is powered by a 3.8-litre engine that generates 400bhp of power. Such power will mean the Carrera can accelerate to 100kmph within 4.3 seconds. Buyers can also buy the optional Sport Chrono package that reduces the acceleration time to 4.1 seconds and the top speed is a mind numbing 302kmph.

The new 911 Carrera S
The 911 Carrera is Porsche's best selling sports car in the world. The seventh generation 911 carries forward the iconic design that has become synonymous with Porsche cars.

The Carrera S is powered by a 400bhp engine and it can reach a top speed of 302kmph.

The launch of these two new models follows a record sales month for Porsche in India. Porsche India, the official importer of Porsche in the country has sold 117 cars in October creating a new monthly sales record.
Porsche India started its retail operations in October after it became part of the Volkswagen Group this year. Porsche was selling its cars in India through Precision Cars India before it set up its own sales operations.
Porsche India director Anil Reddy speaking about the sales performance said: "It has been a very exciting past six months for us at Porsche India and we are thrilled with the pace of our network expansion and new model launches in the country. Our first full month sales result in October has been in excess of 100 units which is the best ever for the brand here. It sets us on course for a good rest of the year."
Despite Porsche being a sports carmaker, its SUV the Cayenne has been its pest selling car. In fact 84% of its cars sold in 2011 were cayennes. The rest of them included the 911 Carrera, Boxter, Cayman and Panamera.
