Nissan To Hike Car Prices From January

Nissan Sunny
Nissan India has followed other carmakers in India by announcing a price hike from January. The Japanese carmaker has decided to increase car prices following increasing input costs and fluctuations in the international currency markets.

Nissan has not indicated the extent of the price hike for individual models. Nissan sells three made in India cars Micra hatchback, Sunny sedan and Evalia MPV along with three imported premium cars the Teana premium sedan, X-Trail SUV and 370Z sports car.

The Nissan Sunny is the Japanese carmaker's best selling car. It has helped Nissan double its sales in the past twelve months following the arrival of its diesel variant.

Nissan is not the only carmaker to have announced price hikes. Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz have already stated that they will increase prices from January 2013. The remaining carmakers are also expected to follow then in January. They might have not announced any revision in their car prices expecting a backlash from consumers.
