Nissan Evalia Set To Be London Taxi

The Nissan Evalia has emerged as a possible replacement of the venerable London Taxi soon after it became the official taxi in New York. The Evalia also called as the NV 200 has replaced the Crown Victoria which were loved by most New Yorkers. The TX4 London taxi with its classic car look and feel also has a large fan following too and it remains to be seen if the NV 200 can win over their hearts.

The Evalia has been appreciated for its reliability, better fuel economy and space. It will have to compete against the fleet of TX4 taxis that are built by the London Taxi company. Nissan is highlighting the Evalia's diesel variant as an ideal replacement of the TX4. It has stated that the NV 200 can do everything that you expect from a TX4 and much more.

The Nissan's Evalia's diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-litre K9K turbo diesel engine which is more powerful yet consumes less fuel than the 2.5 litre diesel powering the TX4. The K9K engine delivers a peak power of 89bhp and 240Nm. Further its emissions are much lesser than the TX4 making at an eco friendly option.

The NV 200 is cheaper than the TX4 taxi. The Nissan has sliding doors which provide easier access and its panoramic roof will provide riders a good view of the sights the city of London has to offer. Nissan is also planning to offer a completely electric powered variant that is now under development.

Nissan has stated that the NV 200 is an ideal taxi for London and added that the electric variant would help reduce CO2 emissions in the city.
