Nissan To Launch Evalia In September
Nissan, which is on a high thanks to the success of its Sunny is all set to launch yet another trend setting model in the form of the Evalia MPV. Sources say The Nissan Evalia's India launch has been scheduled for September.
The Nissan Evalia had its Indian debut at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo where it was highly appreciated for its sleek looks. The Evalia is already a successful MPV in several international markets. The launch of the Evalia in India could not be timed in a better was as sales of MPVS and SUVs have increased consistently.

The Evalia will compete with established MPVs such as the Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The huge success of the Ertiga has clearly indicated the positive sentiment car buyers have for MPVs.
The Evalia will be powered by the same 1.5 litre diesel engine that is in the Sunny. The Evalia will be built jointly by Nissan and its joint venture partner Ashok Leyland. Ashok Leyland is also planning to sell its own version of the Evalia called the Stile. The Stile which was also displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo is expected to follow the Evalia.
The Nissan Evalia's September launch will be weeks ahead of the Indian festive season which is considered a positive time for car sales. While many carmakers launch their new models during the festive season Nissan seems to have decided to launch the Evalia in September.
The Nissan Evalia's price will be the most important factor if it has to become a success. A price tag of under Rs.10 lakhs is vital considering the most expensive variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is priced at Rs.8.5 lakhs.
