New Maruti SX4 Sedan On Its Way

Maruti will soon breathe new life into the SX4 sedan. This model from Maruti has not sprout well in terms of sales since its debut in 2007. The company is now looking to bounce back on the sales front after it witnessed a 64% decline in deliveries when compared to the same period [April to November months] last year. Maruti had initially rolled out the SX4 sedan to take on the then segment leader Honda City.

The SX4 replaced the Baleno which was a failure in terms of sales. What could be one of the reason's the SX4 sedan has not been received well?

Can it be the design? If that is the case Maruti has given the SX4 two facelifts over these years. Maruti cars are usually well accepted in India. Take for instance the Swift and WagonR, both these models have sold well in India. However, when it comes to sedans or premium cars Maruti seems to hit a slump in sales.

We believe its competitors in the form of Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento have far better to offer in that price range. If Maruti really needs to kick-up their sales when it comes to the SX4, they should be looking at a complete makeover.

What can we expect from the new makeover. Industry sources are confirming that a more sporty stylish SX4 with a new front fascia along with premium interiors are on its way.
