Mercedes S600 Pullman Guards Pranab Mukherjee

There was a period of time, when Hindustan Motor's Ambassador transported a poor man, middle man as well as the Indian President. However times have changed and the evolution of automobiles, has brought forward a new set of wheels.

By new set of wheels, we are referring to President Pranab Mukherjee's Mercedes-Benz S600 (W221) Pullman Guard. Let's get straight to the point and discuss what this INR 6-crore hot wheel has to offer in terms of safety features.

A thought to ponder on is, will our President be safe during a life threatening situation? Drivespark breaks down Pranab Mukherjee's Mercedes-Benz S600 (W221) Pullman Guard.

Indian President's Limo

Let's take for an example, during an attack the bulletproof tyres get deflated. If such is the case, it would not be much off a worry. The Mercedes-Benz S600 (W221) Pullman Guard, would be able to travel at 80km per hour for about 30km fully deflated.

Apart from this, the President's Limo has a host of security features. Some of the stand-out features are, a rear surveillance camera, bullet and grenade attack proof, soundproof glass partition between the driver and president's cabin, tele aid with GPS tracking and cellphone services.

The Mercedes-Benz S600 (W221) Pullman Guard, has been specially crafted in Stuttgart Germany. The German manufacturer, has also equipped the President's Limo with a 90 litre self-sealing fuel tank, emergency fresh air-system, automatic fire extinguisher, stereo sound system with a hard drive-based GPS satellite navigator.

The feature that caught our attention the most is, a call-out facility which dials out automatically, if any of the eight air-bags or seat belt tensioners get deployed. However, the Big Question is, how does our President's Limo line-up, when compared to, lets say the American President's Limo?

President Barack Obama uses a Cadillac, which has several high features. Be it rocket impacts or biochemical attacks the bodywork and petrol tank can withstand direct hits. Other accessories include Night vision cameras, Kevlar-reinforced with steel rims, pump-action shotguns, tear gas cannons and bottles of blood compatible with the President's blood.

So what are your thoughts? Which President wins the battle of Limo's? On the other hand, let's not forget, Pranab Mukherjee absolutely still loves the Iconic Ambassador, which once transported a poor man, middle man as well as the Indian President. Go India Go!

*** Caution:

Let's not forget, the 6-crore President's Limo is manufactured in Stuttgart Germany. Are the German's keeping a close eye on our President's paths?
