Mahindra To Launch Verito Hatchback In Sept 2012

The Verito sedan which has been highly acclaimed for its great fuel efficiency and huge cabin space is currently the carmaker's entry-level car. It is the Renault Logan that was later rebadged as the Veito when Mahindra ended its joint venture with the French carmaker.
The news on Mahindra's plan to launch the hatchback based on the Verito sedan was revealed by Mahindra & Mahindra sales and customer care senior vice-president Arun Malhotra. The company also said that the hatchback will be built at Mahindra's Nasik plant along with the Verito sedan.
Meanwhile, the hatchback which would be under 4 metre in length is expected to feature good interior space and comfort. Expect the Verito hatchback to come in both petrol and diesel versions alike the sedan model. There has been no information if the new hatchback would sport major design changes from its sedan sibling.
The Verito hatchback which is expected to arrive at a starting price of around Rs 4 lakhs will take on the likes of Tata India, Toyota Etios Liva and the Nissan Micra. It would be really interesting to see how the first hatchback from the SUV maker performs in the market.
