Honda To Add CNG Variant To City

Honda realized its reliable petrol engines will not be enough to garner attract buyers and decided to develop a diesel engine. But the development of a new engine is a time consuming process and as a stop gap arrangement, Honda has decided to add a new variant to the City which will be powered by CNG.
The CNG powered Honda City, according to reports, is expected to be launched as early as October this year. With the diesel powered Honda City expected to be launched later next year, the CNG City can offer some respite to Honda.
Honda is said to be working on the CNG City since quite some time. The same i-VTEC petrol engine available in the City has been tweaked to handle the new Fuel. CNG is a highly preferred fuel in some fuels as its cheaper than petrol. It is also a greener fuel as its emissions are comparatively lesser than in petrol.
Honda has made some changes to the City's suspension to accommodate the CNG tank that will be fitted under the rear boot. Other changes in the CNG City will be in the instrument cluster which will display the required data in terms of fuel usage and mileage.
So CNG fans are you happy you will get a CNG City, your happiness will be short lived as the new variant is expected to be about Rs.50,000 more expensive than the petrol variant.
