Honda Officially Names Brio Sedan As Amaze
Honda, the Japanese carmaker has unveiled the name of its soon to be launched sedan. The Brio based sedan has been named as Amaze and is expected to be launched in several Asian markets including India next year.
The Brio was the first small car developed by Honda for growing markets like India and Thailand. After the tremendous success of the Brio it was but natural to use the same platform to build cars of different body types. The Honda Amaze will be the Brio based sedan while there are reports about an MPV also being developed on the Brio's platform.
The Honda Amaze will also be Honda's first diesel powered sedan in India. Honda is planning to launch the Honda Amaze in India with both diesel and petrol engines while the Amaze will just have a petrol engine in Thailand. The Amaze will be launched in Thailand on 23rd November.
The Honda Amaze will be Honda's entry level sedan in India under the City. The Amaze is the result of increasing pressure from competitors forcing Honda to look at new cars to retain its customer base. With no diesel powered cars in its line-up, Honda has been struggling to sell in India.
In its statement, on the Amaze sedan, Honda has said: "Honda plans to introduce this model to accommodate the diversifying needs of customers in automobile markets in Asia where competition is intensifying."
Explaining further about the technical aspects of the Amaze sedan, Honda has said every aspect about the new entry level sedan will amaze the customer.
Honda has promised the Amaze will be spacious despite having a compact exterior. It is a result of Honda's philosophy of maximum space for people while minimizing space needed for mechanical components.
Honda claims, the Amaze sedan will deliver class leading fuel efficiency along with excellent power delivery. We have to wait until next year to see how it works.
