Honda's eagerly awaited diesel engine will be available in the Honda Civic from January 2013. The engine is said to provide class leading combination of mileage and performance.

The 1.6 liter i-DTEC engine will make its debut in the British built 2013 Honda Civic. This engine returns a mileage of 27.79 kilometers per liter.

Honda has given it new features such as new 16-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming rear view mirror and DAB digital radio.

Honda has built a reputation for building reliable engines. This new 1.6 liter i-DTEC engine features a 6 speed manual gearbox and a power output of 120 PS at 4,000rpm while maximum torque is 300Nm at 2,000rpm.

This new earth dreams technology engine slingshots the Civic into the competitive corporate market, offering a 'no compromise' vehicle for the corporate customer.
