Honda Civic Gets 1.6 Lakh Discount
The Honda Civic, once the best selling executive sedan in India is on its way out. With customer favouring diesel cars and no diesel option available until a couple of years Honda has decided to discontinue selling the Civic sedan in India. However it still has sufficient stocks and is planning to clear it soon.
The Honda Civic is now available with a discount of close to Rs.1.6 lakhs which translates in to 12 to 14% of its on road price. The Honda Civic is now available with a cash discount, exchange bonus as well as free insurance for one year which adds up to Rs.1.6 lakhs for the top end variant.
Honda dealers are said to be desperate to clear the remaining Civics in their showroom. Reports say they will offer you an exchange bonus even if you do not trade in your car. So this is probably the best time to buy the Honda Civic at a bargain. In fact the entry level variant of the Civic could be available at a price just over the price of the top end City.
Buyers might be concerned about availability of spare parts for the Civic as the carmaker will stop building the car in India. However, Honda has stated that all necessary spares will be available to customers as always at all customer service centres.
The Honda Civic's ex showroom price starts at Rs.12.59 lakhs while the top end model with automatic transmission and sunroof costs Rs.14.88 lakhs. It is powered by a 1.8-litre iVtec engine that delivers 132bhp.
Honda has unveiled a diesel powered Civic in Europe powered by a new 1.8-liter IDTEC diesel engine. Honda has not stated when it will bring the Civic back to India with a diesel engine. Honda's first diesel car in India will be the Brio based Amaze sedan that is set to be launched in Thailand this month.
