Fiat Launches Grande Punto Sport At Rs 7.36 lakhs
Fiat India has launched the Grande Punto Sport variant at Fiat Caffe, Pune at Rs 7.36 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Fiat Punto has been a car liked by auto enthusiasts for its style, performance and driving dynamics and now, here is the Sport variant with more fuel efficiency and additional features.
The sport variant adds more to the already well designed car with chrome door handles, chrome exhaust tips and sporty decals on the body. On the interior, the Grande Punto Sport gets metallic pedals, red stitching on the seats, door sill with Punto written on it and ORVM painted in red.
The Grande Punto Sport gets 1.3 Liter 91 Bhp Multijet turbo diesel engine that generates a peak torque of 209 Nm and is available with a variable geometry turbocharger. The carmaker also boats a better mileage of 20.5 kmpl for the Sport variant.
The other features on offer are steering mounted controls, Follow Me Home headlamps, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, electrically adjustable ORVM units, steering-mounted controls for audio and phone to name a few. On the safety front, the Grande Punto Sport gets ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and engine immobilizer.
The Grande Punto Sport is available in three shades - black, white and red. It is one of the two models Fiat sells in India along with the Linea sedan. The Grande Punto hatchback is also available in a lower petrol and diesel variant.
Though the Punto being a car with great potential, it has not been able to maintain good sales volumes for Fiat. However, let's hope this changes with Fiat breaking a distribution deal and going forward alone opening new showrooms.
