Carmakers develop concept cars and show them in major auto shows. Concept cars are usually , as their name suggests, a life size design of a future potential car. Some concepts are developed by carmakers to showcase their expertise in either design, engine technology or even art.

These concepts will not always turn out to be production models. While some concepts have moved up the process to become production vehicles, there are many who never graduated beyond the concept stage.
