Audi Readying S6 For November Launch
With German luxury carmaker Audi continuing with its expansion plan in India, the latest news is that the company is planning to launch the Sports series S6 model by November this year. Audi had recently launched the S4 high performance variant at Rs 45 lakhs (ex-showroom Maharashtra).
With the launch of the sports variants, Audi plans to capture a segment where there are no competetors as of now. Intrestingly, the newly launched S4 has bagged 20 bookings in a few days.
Alike the S4, S6 is the big brother of the A6 with more sporty features. The S6 will be powered by a 4.0-liter V8 generating 420PS of power and 550Nm of torque. The car will speed to 100kmph in just 4.7 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
The S6 may get some innovative features such as the Cylinder on Demand system and adaptive air suspension. While the former deactivates four out of eight cylinders, depending on the load improving mileage and cutting emissions, adaptive suspension allows the car to sit lower thereby sharpening handling.
In the looks department, the S6 will feature many styling changes like a single-frame grille, aluminum-look door mirrors, special body colored rocker panels, black brake calipers, S design 19-inch wheels, large air spoiler, oval twin tailpipes and diffuser with offset blade that will distinguish it from the A6. The S6 continues to carry the sportiness on its exterior inside the cabin as well. Expect the car to be priced around Rs 60 lakhs when launched.
