Audi To Build Q3 In India in 2013; Cut Price
Audi India is planning to assemble the Q3 premium SUV in India at its plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra from middle of next year. This will be Audi's second SUV to be built in India after the Q7. Audi India started building the Q7 in its plant early this month.
The Audi Q3's price in India starts from Rs.26.21 lakhs for the entry level variant and it goes up to Rs.34.4 lakhs for the top end TDI Quattro diesel variant. These prices can come down considerable once Audi India starts assembling the Q3 in India from 2013.

Audi's Q range of SUVs have been very successful in India and the premium carmaker is confident that its volumes will be boosted once the local assembly of the Q3 starts.

Audi has been able to pose a serious threat to BMW's position of being the the country's best selling premium car brand in 2012 thanks to the Q3.

Audi is also planning to extend its Q range of cars by adding a Q1 compact SUV and Q8, a larger version of the Q7.

Audi India's plant in Aurangabad can produce as many as 12,000 cars a year with two shifts. The company has sold little under 8,000 cars in India and the plant can reach full production capacity ith the Q3.

Audi India is not planning to increase the capacity of its Aurangabad plant right now but might consider it later next year.
