Audi Set To Launch R20 Super Car In 2016

Audi, the German premium car brand is developing a new super car that will become its flagship car replacing theR8 sports car. Audi is reportedly working on a new car based on the platform of its Le Mans winning LMP1 car to build a car that might be named as the R20.

The Audi R20 super car is expected to be unveiled only in 2016 and it will be an amalgamation of several technologies. The R20 will be used by Audi to promote its advanced technology rather than pushing volumes.

As any flagship car, the new Audi super car will be a pinnacle of what Audi can achieve in terms of speed, technology, performance and design. To be powered by a twin turbo charged V6 diesel engine the Audi R20 will also have two two electric motors. Their combined power output will be more than 700bhp and the torque figure is an astounding 1000Nm.

Such power and torque will definitely take the Audi R20 in to the super car territory now dominated by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Koenigsegg. The Audi R20 will have the e-quattro technology in which the front wheels will be powered by two electric motors.

The Audi R20 will be a rare car to own as Audi is reportedly planning to build about 100 to 250 units of the super car.
