The Stunning Audi Q3 Compact Crossover – Review

Earlier in the day, we had reported about the much awaited launch of the sporty Audi Q3. Audi has launched the Q3 in two variants with prices starting from Rs 26.2 lakhs for the base model to Rs 31.5 lakhs for the high-end model (all prices ex-showroom) Mahrashtra. The Audi Q3 is a sporty, efficient and versatile urban vehicle. Compared to its Q5 and Q7 big brothers with high off-road ability, the Q3 is more of a lifestyle vehicle aimed at the youth. Every aspect of the Audi Q3 showcases Audi technology - the body, the drivetrain, the chassis and the assistance and multimedia systems and of course it has ‘quattro'.

The Audi Q3 sports stunning design and its compactness makes the crossover more attractive than its big brothers. The Q3 gets aggressive and sharper lines with the angularly designed head lamps adding charm to the crossover. The car also gets fine dimensions along with higher ground clearance.

The interior of the Q3 is also rich with luxury features. The interior gets modern design along with comforst features such as high end upholstery for the seats, power steering, power windows, efficient air conditioning with heater. The cabin of the crossover is roomy with ample legroom, headroom for passengers and large enough luggage space.

In fact, the Q3 is the ‘only' compact SUV in its segment that offers quattro making it an an apt choice for the younger customer. The Audi Q3 is also competitively priced and the car will take on the likes of BMW X1 and Range Rover Evoque.

The Audi Q3 will be available initially with diesel engines only. The Audi Q3 comes with a 2.0 TDI engine that is found on a range of Audi models such as the A4, A6 sedans and Q5 crossover. The engine which produces peak power of 177 Bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm is mated to a 7 speed dual clutch DSG automatic gearbox. The powerful diesel drivetrain will speed the Q3 100 kmph in just 8.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 211 kmph.

While the base features radio remote control, front centre armrest, rear parking aid, cruise control, infotainment, concert radio, passive speakers, driver information system, audi music interface , voice dialogue system and bluetooth Interface, the high-end variant gets Audi sound system and driver information system with colour display as additional features.

Optional extras available on both variants include a panoramic glass roof and an additional storage package. The sporty crossover will be available in 13 different colour combinations. For those who have fallen for the Q3, remember, only 500 bookings have been allotted for the crossover which will be sold through Audi's 19 showrooms across the country.
