Audi Developing 120kmpl City Car

Fuel prices are shooting up across the globe and experts say petroleum sources will run out quickly considering the enormous volumes being drawn out every day. Most vehicles run on oil derived fuels and the only way we can conserve fuel is by developing cars that do not consume as much fuel as the current ones.

German premium carmaker Audi is doing just that. Audi is developing a new city car that will deliver maximum mileage for a city car. Audi's new car under development can run on for 120 kilometres on just one litre of fuel.

Audi 120kmpl Car

Audi's 120kmpl car is being developed targeted at city dwelling youth. The car is being developed on the Audi A1's platform. According to the Autocar UK's website, Audi has already started work on building the 120kmpl car.

Audi will be using a one litre TDI diesel engine in this new car. The diesel engine will be tuned to develop optimum performance while consuming minute amount of fuel. If this 120kmpl car from Audi becomes a production ready car, there is little doubt about it being a new turning point for the German premium carmaker as well as the automobile industry.

Audi's 120kmpl car will also mark a shift in Audi's position as a premium carmaker as according to reports this car not only be fuel efficient but will also be inexpensive. This car can emerge as a volume car for Audi and propel it ahead of its German rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

Audi's 120kmpl car will be an ideal city car. It will have sufficient space for four people. It is most suitable for the person who does not want to miss out on the fun of traveling while still not having a huge impact on the environment.
