Mahindra Wins Verdict Against Global Vehicles
The company officials of Mahindra said the company will fight the case with all defensive might. Global Vehicles got distributorship from Mahindra in 2007 so as to enable the latter to enter into the US as the first auto maker with its trucks. Since Mahindra could not get the approval from the US government it could not initiate the process till 2009. Once the approval was effected Mahindra nullified the appointment of distributorship to Global Vehicles and went on with alternative means of selling its vehicles.
In turn, Global Vehicles claimed that it had already appointed 350 dealers for M&M trucks and hence it invited the foul play from the Indian company. Global Vehicles, filed a case against Mahindra demanding compensation of Rs60 crore as loss resulted with the installation of distribution channels. As Mahindra has cleared the legal binding now and it is in possession of clearance from the US government for environmental protection, it is planning to go ahead on its own. In the process, it will market its two trucks through revised distribution scheme.
