Tata Sumo Gold Launched at Rs.5.04 Lakhs!

The new Tata Sumo Gold will take on the recently launched new Mahindra Bolero, which was recently launched. and the Chevrolet Tavera. Tata Motors has added some new features to make the Sumo Gold attractive against competition. The Sumo Gold will be available in two variants – BSIV and BSIII. The new Sumo is expected to pose a stiff competition to market leader Bolero.
The Sumo Gold will be available in four variants - GX, EX, LX and CX and they will be powered by a 3 Liter CR engine while the 3 Liter TCIC engine will be available only in the EX, LX and CX variants.
The new Sumo is different from the previous Sumo primarily in the engine. Tata Motors has added a brand new three litre common rail diesel engine that is cleaner, more fuel efficient and delivers more power and torques. The engine is paired with a five speed manual gearbox that offers smoother gear shifts.
The new diesel engine can generate 80bhp as against the previous versions 70bhp. When it comes to torque figures, the Sumo Gold has 250Nm at its disposal as against the previous versions 190Nm. The CR4 engine will deliver a fuel economy of 14.07kmpl.
