Nissan Sunny - Performance Guaranteed

The acceleration in the Sunny is quite smooth. The acceleration in mid gears is not disappointing and overtaking will be an easy affair. The gear shift feels chunky as you will see in a Mahindra Scorpio. The shifts are smooth and the acceleration immediate. Since we were driving on a highway and not on a race track we were not able to truly test the top speed of the Sunny but with the speedometer showing 220kmph, the sedan has every chance to breach the 200kmpl mark but we dint try it :)
Nissan has added all safety features in the Sunny. There are driver airbags and passenger air bags, ABS and EBD. Brakes are quick and sure while ABS appears to maintain the car's balance even while braking and turning. They not only make the drive safe but also give confidence to the driver. The air conditioning in this car is also a notable feature as it has rear AC vents too. Another comforting feature is the cup holders, (a feature mostly preferred by Americans). The cup holders are hidden the rear seat's middle and can be brought out whenever necessary.
The Sunny appears to be a highway muncher. It was able to hit speeds of 80kmph with ease and stay there without much fuss. The ride was made more enjoyable thanks to the good music system. The volume controls on the steering wheel also help. The other knobs and buttons are placed at comfortable positions too.
The lack of time or rather proper lighting for our photographer meant we were able to drive the Sunny for a couple of hours. But the time spent was worth it. Nissan is expected to bring a diesel version of the Sunny and this will make the sedan more attractive to buyers. We will bringing you a first hand look at the Diesel Sunny as soon as it is launched.
