MG Cyberster Review: Unique & All The Better For It
The MG Cyberster is MG's modern-day take on the iconic MGB roadster from the 1960s. The all-electric roadster was first revealed as a concept to the world in 2021 at the Shanghai Auto Show.
Two years later at the Godwood Festival of Speed, MG finally revealed the production version of the Cyberster to the world. Move forward another two years and the MG Cyberster made its debut in India at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Late last month (July 2025), JSW MG Motor India launched the MG Cyberster in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹75 lakh.

We recently got behind the wheel of the MG Cyberster at India's former F1 and MotoGP track, the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida to see how this modern-day British roadster performs at the limit.
MG Cyberster Review – Exterior Highlights
The MG Cyberster features a low-slung, aggressive stance, with a ground clearance of about 140mm. At the front, it sports sleek headlamps with bi-functional LED projectors and distinctive daytime running lights, along with a front splitter and the MG logo integrated into the grille.

The side profile is defined by large 20-inch wheels with a staggered tyre setup—245mm at the front and 275mm at the rear—mounted on Pirelli P Zero tyres for improved grip. Brembo brakes with four-piston callipers provide strong stopping power. Real air vents on the sides help manage airflow, and the 100th-anniversary badge on the side skirt adds a special touch.
Scissor doors are a standout feature, operated by the remote or interior buttons, while the convertible soft top can be raised or lowered in just 10 seconds. At the rear, a connected LED tail-light with an arrow design serves as both tail-light and indicator. The rear diffuser and 230-litre boot complete the sporty look.

MG Cyberster Review – Interior Highlights
The Cyberster’s cabin offers a single interior option with Alcantara and leather upholstery, highlighted by contrast stitching. Both bucket seats are eight-way electronically adjustable with memory functions, providing comfort and support for spirited driving.
The flat-bottom steering wheel is finished in red leather and features mode controls and paddle shifters. A Bose surround sound system is included for improved audio quality. However, the interior still uses a manual inside rear-view mirror.

The dashboard features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, flanked by two 7-inch screens for additional vehicle information and driving modes. Controls for the roof, doors, and drive modes are located on the central console. Cup holders and storage cubbies are available, while door pockets are replaced by small cubby holes.
The convertible roof can be opened or closed in 10 seconds. Roll-over protection is provided by integrated structures behind the seats, along with a manually adjustable wind deflector. Although the interior feels snug, it remains functional for two occupants.

Boot space measures about 230 litres, enough for weekend luggage. There is no separate front trunk due to the dual-motor setup. Practicality is focused on essentials, with comfort and technology aimed at the driver and passenger.
MG Cyberster Review – Performance & Battery Pack
The MG Cyberster is powered by a dual-motor electric drivetrain, producing 510PS and 725Nm of torque to all four wheels. The Cyberster sprints from 0–100km/h in just a claimed 3.2 seconds.
A 77kWh battery pack powers the MG Cyberstr in India and it offers a claimed WLTP range of 443 km on a single charge. If connected to a 144kW DC fast charger, the Cyberster can charge its battery pack from 10% to 80% in approximately 40 minutes. Home chrging takes just over 12 hours.

MG Cyberster Review – Driving Impressions
On track, the MG Cyberster delivers instant acceleration and strong grip, thanks to its Pirelli tyres and brilliant suspension setup. The steering is direct, and the car holds its line well through corners, aided by its balanced weight distribution.
Power is distributed with a 60:40 split between the rear and front wheels, and the car offers a balanced 50:50 weight distribution for improved handling. The Cyberster's top speed is limited for Indian road conditions, with the traction and stability control systems calibrated for local requirements.
The suspension is tuned for a blend of comfort and handling, remaining composed even at higher speeds. Ride quality is firm, as expected from a sports car, but not uncomfortable. The cabin remains relatively quiet, with only minor wind and road noise at high speed.
The Cyberster’s brakes are responsive, providing confidence when decelerating from high speeds. The driving position is low and sporty, although taller drivers may find the interior a bit cramped. Overall, the car offers a spirited and enjoyable driving experience, whether on road or track.

MG Cyberster Review – Verdict & Final Thoughts – Unlike Anything Else On Offer
