2026 Tata Tiago EV Review: What's Changed?
The most noticeable changes on the 2026 Tata Tiago EV are at the front. The hatchback gets a redesigned fascia featuring sleeker LED headlamps, new eyebrow-style LED DRLs and a closed-off body-coloured grille that gives it a cleaner EV-specific appearance.

The bumper has also been redesigned with fresh faux air vents positioned at the edges, while newly styled 14-inch wheels and contrasting wheel-arch cladding add a more modern touch. The overall design looks sharper and more contemporary without losing the familiar Tiago silhouette.
At the rear, Tata has introduced connected LED tail-lamps, bringing the Tiago EV in line with current design trends. A revised rear bumper, dual-tone black roof, shark-fin antenna and chrome-finished door handles further enhance its visual appeal.

Tata offers the 2026 Tata Tiago EV in six colours: Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Grey and Pristine White.
The cabin of the 2026 Tata Tiago EV sees the biggest transformation. The dashboard has been completely redesigned with a dual-tone theme and now houses a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The instrument cluster remains partly digital but now offers Bluetooth functionality.

Tata says the electrical and electronic architecture has been upgraded with higher processing power to support the expanded feature list. The 2026 Tata Tiago EV now comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology with over 40 functions, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox and auto-folding ORVMs.
Additional upgrades to the 2026 Tata Tiago EV include a front centre armrest, redesigned door pads, fresh grey upholstery and a gloss-black centre console. The familiar two-spoke steering wheel remains but now carries the new Tata.ev logo. Front-seat occupants also benefit from improved under-thigh support, which enhances long-distance comfort.

Safety equipment has also taken a significant step forward. The 2026 Tata Tiago EV now gets six airbags as standard, replacing the earlier dual-airbag setup. The hatchback also receives a 360-degree camera with multiple viewing modes and a blind-view monitor. Other safety features include ESP with traction control, hill-hold assist, TPMS, torque vectoring by braking and ABS with EBD.
Automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and follow-me-home headlamps are also available. Tata says it has strengthened the vehicle's structure for improved crash protection as well.

Charging performance has improved too. Tata claims the updated Tiago EV can now add 100km of range in just 18 minutes, making it around 40 percent faster than before. Both battery variants support DC fast charging and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 35 minutes using a 30kW DC charger. The hatchback continues to be offered with 3.3kW and 7.2kW AC charging options.
There are still a few misses. The 2026 Tata Tiago EV does not get a dedicated lock and unlock button for the doors. Rear passengers also miss out on USB Type-C charging ports, while adjustable rear headrests are also absent.

2026 Tata Tiago EV Review: What's Remained The Same?
The 2026 Tata Tiago EV continues with two battery pack options: a 19.2kWh unit and a larger 24kWh pack. The smaller range version's electric motor develops 61bhp and 110Nm, while the long range variant offers produces 75bhp and 114Nm. MIDC-certified range stands at 226km for the 19.2kWh version and 285km for the 24kWh variant.
The 2026 Tata Tiago EV retains its regenerative braking system with four selectable levels and continues to offer City and Sport driving modes. Tata claims a 0-60km/h sprint time of 5.7 seconds for the larger battery version.

Tata is also offering a lifetime unlimited-kilometre warranty on the high-voltage battery pack of the 24kWh version for the first registered owner. The smaller battery continues with an eight-year/1.6 lakh kilometre warranty.
2026 Tata Tiago EV Review: Driving Impressions
We drove the 2026 Tata Tiago EV Long Range version in and around Bangalore and it was a rather familiar driving experience. Under the floor sits the same electric motor producing 75bhp and 114Nm, paired with a single-speed automatic transmission.

As before, the Tiago EV offers City and Sport driving modes. In real-world conditions, the Long Range version continues to deliver around 200km on a full charge, which is close to Tata's claimed C75 real-world range figures.
City mode remains the default setting and limits torque delivery, but performance is still more than adequate the daily city drive. The throttle response is smooth and progressive, making the car easy to drive in traffic. It doesn't deliver the aggressive off-the-line surge associated with some EVs, but the linear power delivery feels refined and predictable.

Switch into Sport mode and the full performance becomes available. The additional urgency is immediately noticeable, helping the hatchback feel more energetic during overtaking manoeuvres and quick gaps in traffic. Power delivery remains smooth throughout the speed range.
The regenerative braking system offers multiple levels of adjustment, allowing drivers to choose between a freer coasting experience or stronger energy recovery. At the highest regeneration settings, the car slows down noticeably when lifting off the accelerator, although it does not come to a complete stop.

One of the strongest aspects of the 2026 Tata Tiago EV remains its suspension setup. Tata has made no changes here, and that's perfectly fine because the existing setup is already excellent. The suspension absorbs bumps and ruts joints impressively well, delivering a comfortable ride quality that wouldn't be out of place in a larger, more plush car.
Handling characteristics continue to be predictable and confidence-inspiring. While it is not designed to be sporty, the hatchback feels stable and composed in everyday driving conditions. The steering also remains unchanged. It is light, easy to use and ideally suited for city driving. Combined with the Tiago EV's compact footprint and tight turning radius, manoeuvring through traffic and parking spaces remains effortless.

The braking performance comes from front disc and rear drum brakes. Pedal feel is progressive rather than sharp, but stopping power remains more than adequate for daily use.
2026 Tata Tiago EV Review: Verdict
The updates introduced on the 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift address many of the areas where buyers expected more equipment and technology. The refreshed styling gives it a more modern appearance, while the redesigned cabin feels significantly more premium and feature-rich than before. More importantly, Tata has achieved all of this while reducing prices, making the hatchback even more accessible to first-time EV buyers.

What remains unchanged is equally important. The mature ride quality, light steering, good visibility, compact dimensions and user-friendly driving manners continue to make the 2026 Tata Tiago EV one of the easiest electric cars to live with on a daily basis.
For buyers looking to make the switch from petrol to electric, the 2026 Tata Tiago EV remains one of the most sensible choices in the market. With its improved design, upgraded interior, enhanced safety package and attractive pricing, the 2026 Tata Tiago EV is a definite EV to buy for first-time car buyers looking to head down the green route.
