Polaris Industries Acquire Brammo E-Motorcycle Department

American company Polaris Industries has acquired several companies recently. They are the sole cause that iconic two-wheeler brand Indian Motorcycle is back in business. Polaris also offer their own products of ATVs, snowmobiles and the popular three-wheeler called the Slingshot.

Now Polaris has acquired Brammo Motorcycle, which manufactures electric bikes. It is also an American manufacturer, however, it produces e-motorcycles. They are based out of Ashland, Oregon, USA. They offer the Empulse, Empulse R and Enertia Plus electric motorcycles.

Polaris was already an investor in Brammo Motorcycle, however, it now decide to acquire the company completely. They plan to improve the design and several features on the motorcycle. Brammo on the other hand will focus on further development of their electric motor.

Polaris has already brought to India its ATV range of vehicles. The American company has also introduced a wide range of Indian Motorcycle bikes for India. We believe they could also bring Brammo to India as a premium electric motorcycle offering.

Brammo Motorcycle was popular for their use of lithium-ion electric drivetrain for motorcycles. This technology has been deemed as industry leading and is believed to revolutionise two-wheeler mobility. They were offering their products in the US, Canada, Europe and some parts of Asia.

Brammo 2014 Empulse has a unique water cooled motor. It features an integrated J1772 rapid charger and a 6-speed gearbox. The American manufacturer claims their electric motorcycle can attain a top speed of 177 km/h. It is considered as the world's fastest electric motorcycle and Brammo takes great pride in it.
