Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is the latest entrant from the brand in the Indian market. The Maruti S-Presso mini-SUV is positioned above the Alto K10 in the company’s product lineup in India.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes with a tall SUV-ish stance, accentuated further by the squared-off edges and the high ground clearance. Starting from the front, the S-Presso comes with a tall, bold SUV stance with upright A-pillar and a flat front end. The Maruti S-Presso comes with rectangular headlamps, flanking either side of the sleek front grille with chrome elements. The DRLs are positioned further below in place of the fog lamps. The front bumper also features a large central air intake as well.
The side and rear profile of the Maruti S-Presso comes with a clean, tall and simplistic design. It features flared wheel arches which house the standard 13-inch steel wheels, while also offering the 14-inch wheels as standard on higher-spec variants.
The high ground clearance and the black plastic body cladding on the side, further adds to the rugged looks of the S-Presso. The rear profile of the Maruti S-Presso is characterised by the signature C-shaped taillights, along with reflectors at either end of the rear bumper.
Inside, the Maruti S-Presso comes with a centrally-mounted instrument cluster. Maruti also offers the S-Presso with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in-built to the brand’s SmartPlay Studio. Both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system is placed in a central circular housing, with contrast-coloured surrounds.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is offered with a single petrol engine option. This includes a 998cc three-cylinder unit producing 68bhp and 90Nm of torque. The engine further comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, with the optional AGS transmission also on offer for the higher-spec trims.
The 1.0-litre petrol engine has been carried forward from the Alto K10 offering. However, it has been updated to comply with the BS-VI emission norms which will be implemented on the 1st April 2020.
The Maruti S-Presso is said to offer an ARAI certified mileage of 21.4km/l for the petrol-manual powertrain. The petrol-automatic powertrain on the Maruti S-Presso available on the higher-trims offer an ARAI-certified mileage of 21.7km/l.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes with a host of features, technology and safety equipment as standard. Some of the key features on the Maruti S-Presso mini-SUV: 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Digital Instrument cluster with distance-to-empty, fuel consumption, gear-shift indicator and other functions, Steering-mounted controls, keyless entry and roof antenna; among a host of others.
