Tata Motors is set to launch the iconic Sierra in an all-electric avatar on June 30, 2026. This five-seater premium electric SUV will be positioned between the Tata Curvv EV and Tata Harrier EV, sharing its Acti.ev+ platform with the Harrier EV.

Tata has released a fresh teaser that fully showcases the Sierra EV's exterior design. While many styling elements are shared with its ICE sibling, the electric version carries distinct EV-specific elements like a closed grille, Tata.ev badging, and unique alloy wheel designs.

The teaser also shows the Sierra EV attempting to climb the 300-metre-high Tel Moreeb sand dune, following Tata's previous adventure showcase with the Harrier EV at Elephant Rock and the Beas River. Tata is expected to reveal more about this challenge in the upcoming teasers.

Familiar Yet Distinctive Styling

The Sierra EV carries a signature boxy silhouette, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, rear wraparound glass, body-coloured bumpers, and gloss-black cladding. At the rear, it gets connected LED tail-lamps, a flat tailgate, and a gloss-black rear bumper, maintaining a close resemblance to the ICE version.

Premium Cabin And Features

Inside, the Sierra EV is expected to feature a dual-tone beige and tan cabin theme with premium leatherette upholstery and a panoramic sunroof. It is likely to borrow the triple-screen dashboard layout from the ICE Sierra, along with features like an IRVM display, JBL premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, and powered ventilated seats.

Battery And Performance

The Sierra EV is expected to borrow battery packs from the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. The base variant could get a 65 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 538 km. Higher variants may offer the 75 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 627 km in single-motor form and around 622 km in dual-motor AWD configuration.

The dual-motor version is expected to offer QWD capability, similar to the Harrier EV, while lower trims could continue with rear-wheel drive. Expected pricing could range between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Mahindra BE 6.
