Tata Harrier, Safari Diesel Get Ultra Treatment — Red Dark Editions Added

Tata Motors has launched the Ultra trim for the diesel-powered Harrier and Safari, priced from ₹23,84,990 and ₹24,49,990 (ex-showroom, manual) respectively. Both variants land at the top of their diesel lineups, with the Ultra Red Dark Edition introduced alongside.

Until now, the Ultra grade was exclusive to the petrol models launched in January 2026.
On the Harrier, the new variant slots above the Fearless X+. The Safari Ultra diesel sits atop the the Accomplished X+ trim level, and is ₹65,000 more expensive than the same variant on the Harrier.

Tata Harrier & Safari Diesel Ultra Variants - What's New?

The headline addition to the new diesel Ultra variants of the Tata Harrier & Safari is a 14.53-inch Samsung-sourced infotainment display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Dolby Atmos audio, a digital IRVM with an integrated dashcam, powered ORVMs with memory function, and a 65W Type-C charging port round out the tech additions.

Both SUVs also get on-board navigation, a camera wash function for the front and rear parking sensors, and a white-and-brown dual-tone interior scheme. Front ventilated seats feature on the Harrier Ultra diesel specifically. The Safari adds rear seat ventilation for second-row occupants.

Tata Harrier & Safari Diesel Ultra - Red Dark Edition

The Red Dark Edition dresses both SUVs in 19-inch blacked-out alloy wheels with red brake calipers - the same visual formula Tata used on the petrol variants earlier this year. Harrier diesel buyers get an exclusive Nitro Crimson paint option that doesn't carry over to the Safari.

Step inside and it's Carnelian Red leatherette across both cabins, with red-finished seats contrasting the darker elements. Tata has confirmed the Red Dark Edition exists for both models but hasn't published variant-specific pricing yet; the full list is expected soon.

Tata Harrier & Safari Diesel Ultra - Engine and Gearbox

Both SUVs draw power from the familiar 2.0-litre four-cylinder Kryotec turbo-diesel - 170hp, 350Nm - paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Nothing changes mechanically with this update; the Ultra trim is purely a features and equipment play on an already-established powertrain.
