Mercedes-Benz CLA BEV Scores 5-Star Euro NCAP Rating
The newly launched Mercedes-Benz CLA BEV has secured a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. This electric sedan was recently introduced in India and is available in multiple variants.
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the electric CLA in the Indian market, offered in CLA 200, CLA 250+, and a special Launch Edition. The model brings advanced EV technology along with a strong focus on safety.

2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA BEV Safety Rating
The CLA BEV was recently tested by Euro NCAP, where it achieved a 5-star rating. It scored 94% in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 89% in Child Occupant Protection (COP), 93% for Vulnerable Road Users (VRU), and 85% in Safety Assist (SA), reflecting its strong overall safety credentials.
Built on Mercedes-Benz's Modular Architecture (MMA), the electric sedan is designed to offer enhanced structural safety and real-time protection systems. It comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS features such as Active Safety Assist, Blind Spot Assist Plus, PRE-SAFE systems, and comprehensive occupant and pedestrian protection technologies, along with EV-specific safety systems.

Pricing
Mercedes-Benz continues to be one of the leading luxury car manufacturers in India and is actively expanding its presence in the luxury EV segment, which is expected to see strong growth in the coming years.
In terms of pricing, the CLA 200 starts at ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom), while the CLA 250+ is priced at ₹59 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-spec Launch Edition is priced at ₹64 lakh (ex-showroom).
Key Highlights
The CLA BEV also offers a premium feature set, including the MBUX Hyperscreen with a 14-inch infotainment display, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a co-driver screen. The system supports facial recognition, video calling via an integrated camera, and runs on the latest MB.OS software with OTA update capability.

Battery and Range
Powertrain options include a 58 kWh battery pack in the CLA 200, offering a claimed range of 548 km, while the CLA 250+ and Launch Edition get a larger 85.5 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of up to 792 km.
Deliveries for the CLA 200 are expected to begin by June 2026, while the CLA 250+ will start reaching customers by the end of April 2026. The electric sedan will compete with models like the BYD Seal, Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Kia EV6.
