JSW Motors To Open Experience Centres Ahead of Hybrid SUV Launch In India
JSW Motors, which is set to enter the Indian market this year, is planning to open four new experience centres. The brand is expected to introduce hybrid-powered SUVs, most likely rebadged versions of models from Jetour.
The Indian car market is evolving rapidly, with buyers increasingly shifting towards green mobility. Seeing this opportunity, several new players are entering the space with a wide range of electrified products.

JSW Motors New Experience Centres
One of India's leading corporates, JSW Group, is now planning an independent entry into the passenger vehicle segment by introducing rebadged Jetour SUVs. The group is already present in India through its partnership with MG Motor India, which is owned by SAIC Motor.
The upcoming products are expected to debut later this year, and JSW is actively preparing for the launch. As part of its India entry strategy, the company is reportedly planning to open experience centres in key cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, and Ahmedabad ahead of the launch.

These centres will allow customers to closely experience the products while also enabling the company to gather direct feedback. With plug-in hybrid technology still relatively new to many Indian buyers, these experience centres will play a key role in reaching the customers directly.
Jetour is a Chinese automotive brand owned by Chery Holding Group. JSW is expected to import components from China and assemble them locally at its manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

This strategy will help the company price its products more competitively while also laying the groundwork for future localisation. The Jetour T2 is expected to be the first product to arrive in India, although its launch has reportedly been slightly delayed due to customs-related challenges in importing components from china.
Jetour T2 Specs
However, JSW has indicated that the rebadged version of the Jetour T2 could arrive by the festive season. This plug-in hybrid SUV is powered by a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine paired with a 26.7 kWh battery pack, delivering a combined output of 154 hp and 220 Nm of torque. The company claims a total range of up to 1,000 km, with an electric-only range of around 139 km.
The SUV is expected to be offered with both AWD (All-Wheel Drive) and FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) configurations. Built on a monocoque chassis, it features a rugged, boxy design and a five-seat layout. It is also likely to be feature-rich, catering to Indian buyers who increasingly prioritise technology and value in their vehicles.
