Volkswagen Tayron Receives Top 5-Star Rating In Latest Euro NCAP Safety Test
The Volkswagen Tayron has achieved a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP safety tests, highlighting its comprehensive safety features. This new SUV boasts an array of assist systems designed to prevent accidents, even in its basic model. Volkswagen's commitment to "Safety for All" is evident in the Tayron's design, which prioritises road safety across all vehicle categories and accident scenarios.
The Tayron comes equipped with numerous standard assist systems. These include Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, Lane Assist, and Dynamic Road Sign Display. Additionally, it features Adaptive Cruise Control with "stop & go," Side Assist for lane changes, and systems for oncoming vehicle braking during turns. These technologies work together to enhance driver awareness and vehicle control.
Euro NCAP evaluated the Tayron based on four criteria: Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable Road User Protection, and safety support from driver assist systems. The SUV's top rating reflects Volkswagen's ongoing efforts to improve safety standards through innovative technology.
Beyond assist systems, the Tayron includes essential safety equipment as standard. This comprises front airbags for both driver and passenger, curtain and side airbags at both front and rear, and a centre airbag at the front. The vehicle also features ISOFIX retaining rings for child seats on outer rear seats and the front passenger seat.
The Tayron's design incorporates Electronic Stability Control (ESC), an electromechanical brake servo, Hill Start Assist, and an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold function. These elements contribute to a safer driving experience by enhancing stability and control under various conditions.
Versatile Design Options
The new Tayron slots between Volkswagen's Tiguan and Touareg models. It offers a flexible interior that can optionally include a third row of seats for seven-passenger capacity. Available as petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid models, the latter provides an electric range of up to 127 km.
This SUV also impresses with its intuitive infotainment system and premium-level interior quality. Its generous luggage space and towing capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes make it suitable for diverse needs.
