MRF Tyres Joins British Rally Championship 2025 As Official Supplier
MRF tyres, renowned for their performance in European rallying, are set to debut in the British Rally Championship (BRC) 2025, marking a significant expansion for the Indian tyre manufacturer. The company has secured a role as one of the official tyre suppliers for the championship, with drivers James Williams and Max McRae choosing MRF tyres for their respective Hyundai i20 N and Citroen C3 Rally2 cars.
This move into the BRC, starting with the East Riding Stages on February 23, highlights MRF's commitment to demonstrating its tyre quality and performance on a global platform.

The Indian tyre giant has a remarkable track record, with two victories in the European Rally Championship in 2022 and 2023, and dominating the Italian Gravel Rally Championship for four consecutive years, from 2021 to 2024. MRF's decision to supply tyres across all BRC categories, including both asphalt and gravel tyres, is a testament to its success and experience in rallying's challenging environments.
Arun Mammen, vice chairman and managing director of MRF, expressed enthusiasm about entering the BRC, emphasizing the opportunity to showcase their products and inspire motorsport enthusiasts in India. "We are excited to take on this new challenge and represent India on the global motorsports platform," Mammen stated. Moreover, Mammen is confident in the performance of MRF tyres in the BRC, citing the intensive development and testing processes that have prepared their products for the rigours of rally racing.\

In the spotlight of the BRC1 category, MRF has aligned with talents such as James Williams and Max McRae. Williams, coming off a successful 2024 with wins at the Rally Isle of Man and the Goodwood Festival of Speed Forest Rally Stage, looks to continue his momentum. On the other hand, McRae, at 20 years old, is preparing for his first full season in the BRC, transitioning from a Ford Fiesta Rally2 to a Citroen C3 for the 2025 season.
McRae, the nephew of the legendary British rally driver Colin McRae, shared his optimism about the upcoming season, particularly praising the MRF tyres after testing them in Hungary. Despite challenging conditions during the test, McRae was impressed by the tyres' performance, saying, "I was definitely impressed with the feel from the MRF Tyres – that said, the conditions were pretty tricky." His confidence extends beyond just the equipment, as he has a strong relationship with his team, Tagai Racing Technology, from his time in the Junior European Rally Championship.

As MRF gears up for the BRC 2025 season, its venture into British rallying represents more than just the expansion of its sporting engagements; it's a step forward in showcasing the capabilities of Indian manufacturing on a prestigious international stage. The anticipation is building for the East Riding Stages, where MRF's tyres will be put to the test, potentially setting a new benchmark for performance and reliability in the world of rally racing.
