Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Spotted Testing: Round Headlights & Other Design Changes Introduced!
Mahindra is making strides in the D SUV segment with its lineup, including the Scorpio Classic, Scorpio N, Thar Roxx, and XUV700. To strengthen its position further, Mahindra is working on a facelift for the XUV700. This updated version has been spotted testing for the first time, revealing some changes at the front.
Design Changes
In a video by TamilMotors360, a camouflaged test mule of the Mahindra XUV700 facelift was seen. The design largely mirrors the current model since it's an early prototype. However, there are noticeable updates at the front, including a new grille with more slanted vertical slats compared to the existing model.

Also, circular headlights resembling those from Thar Roxx are temporarily used on this test mule, while fog lights aren't visible, they could be hidden or removed under camouflage. That being said, the side silhouette and rear tail lights remain unchanged from the current model.
Potential New Features
There is anticipation for additional features in the facelifted XUV700 or XUV7XO. These could include ventilated seats at both ends, a triple screen dashboard setup akin to the XEV 9e, rear ottoman seating, digital key access, self-parking capabilities, an upgraded Harman audio system with Dolby support, and an auto-dimming IRVM.
Powertrain
The powertrain options are expected to remain unchanged. The vehicle will likely continue offering a 2.0L Turbo Petrol engine producing 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque and a 2.2L Turbo Diesel engine delivering up to 182 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. Both engines will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Future Prospects
While there are discussions about Mahindra developing range-extending Plug-in Hybrid Electric vehicles, these innovations may not feature in the upcoming XUV700 facelift or XUV7XO models. As Mahindra continues testing its prototypes, more details about potential enhancements and features will likely emerge.
DriveSpark Thinks
The current Mahindra XUV700 has remained unchanged since its launch in August 2021. Although initially expected in 2025, the facelift's release is now anticipated in 2026. As Mahindra refines its design strategy and features for this model update, enthusiasts eagerly await further developments.
